Table Traditions

A mix of old + new holiday table setting via @Jenna_Burger ,www.sasinteriors.net

I hope you had a beautiful weekend + a day of filled with remembering all the veterans who have fought for our country, along with those who continue to fight for our freedoms. It was a fairly quiet few days in our neck of the woods, but we were busy starting Christmas preparations. Crazy, I know, but with how fast the season often comes and goes, I wanted to get an earlier jump on the decorating this year. I have a few tricks + secrets up my sleeve which Ill be sharing over the coming weeks.

As the house starts to come together, I started thinking about the reason for the season and for our family it really revolves around the table the gathering spot for our daily meals and even more importantly our holiday meals. Filled with laughs, hours of conversation, and a whole lotta good food, the table is where it all comes together The culmination of the entire holiday season.

Christmas table with hues of glittery gold, a touch of black, and a forever favorite blue by @Jenna_Burger, www.sasinteriors.net The way I feel a table works best is to incorporate a little old with a little new. Its always nice to display some traditional, classic elements from years past, BUT its also a lot of fun to do a bit of shopping for new elements. For this years Christmas table, I wanted to go a bit O So Non-Traditional and chose glittery gold, a touch of black, and my forever favorite blue.

A scrap of burlap with gold dots was set underneath. Then at each setting, I used my everyday plates which I topped with the gorgeous graphic Tracy Reese plates I scored last year from Target + my beautiful new white & black napkins that I just scored from West Elm. An absolute mix of old + new The way I feel traditions should be.

Perfect to serve a few hor doeuvres or dessert treats.

Among many shops, mix and small, West Elm is a favorite because of their modern, yet traditional decor mix of clean lines, natural materials, and handcrafted collections. Specifically, the West Elm Market is an even funkier, industrial, and rustic part of the brand focusing on Kitchen, Garden, Care & Repair and Personal Care. To me it just feels real with elements that are completely functional. As Im putting the finishing touches on my holiday table, I couldnt resist creating a dream dining space perfectly set for the holidays OR the everyday, all including elements from West Elm
