Located in Crouch End, North London, this private residence boasts a magnificent ground floor double volume space. The LLI Design‘s mission was to bring a sense of warmth to this house and to make it as welcoming as possible. The interior is characterised by breeziness and a certain sophistication accentuated by the wonderful choice of decorations, the lacquered furniture, the exquisite Bertoia dining chairs and last but not least, the dramatic contemporary chandelier. “With such an airy environment it was important to maintain the drama of the space whilst bringing a human dimension by adding comfort and well scaled furniture so that the space did not feel or appear too overwhelming.”

The first impression when seeing the house from the outside is that there’s a lot going on. As soon as you step inside you realise that the living space is perfectly balanced, having a perfect dose of everything. No clichés. The ground floor accommodates the kitchen, the living room and the dinning area. A glass balustraded feature staircase connects the floors, allowing vertical circulation throughout the house. Undoubtably, this is the perfect example that shows that minimalism is not the only way to make a house “breathe” properly.
