Encompassed by trees and lush vegetation, Gatineau Hills Residence, blooms in the melancholic days of the fall. It might sound a little bit unusual, but as soon as you get to explore the fantastic burst of colours and the way the beauty of the natural light permeates into the house you will understand why everything about this house is so ravishing. “On the exterior, the use of reclaimed wood on the second level provides a textural balance to the white cement board and glass of the ground floor. A rustic modern language continues on the interior, with hand-scraped oak floors throughout and hand-forged handles and pulls set against white lacquer.”

Accommodating an open space living room (including also the kitchen and the dinning area), the ground floor is perceived as the core of the house. The glass panels replacing the walls together with white lacquered furniture enhance the feeling of openness. The floor as well as some of the furniture’s decorations are made of reclaimed wood. This gives a certain coziness to this living space dominated by the white’s pureness and sterility.
