The horrific storm of Sandy hit one week ago today. Even though I was thankfully spared living in Upstate NY, many of my family and friends in the Northeast region are still without power, gas, food, water, or supplies. Worse off, MANY are without a home to return to. Its simply unimaginable and saddening. In this great time of need, there are alot of people that have come together to make a difference and help those during this horrific time.
An awesome initiative was started by the Blogging community,and specifically Laura of Pet Scribbles, called Socks for Sandy in an effort to help victims get hats, gloves, and socks. Donations can be sent to the address below. They are delivered to a post office mailbox that is owned by Laura and she personally brings each package to the local hurricane shelter for distribution. Any excess will be given to other hurricane shelters up and down New Jerseys coastline.
